*Update: Post high scores here:

(I hated to break up my narrative, but headers were added for your convenience.)

It’s that magical time again, another SGP release! Our second, for those counting. While Swords and Runes was an epic RPG of 8-bit proportions, our new release, 0-to-X, is an exciting puzzler developed by nemesys (NA user “user” ) that will leave you hooked for days on end. I know this because I have spent a lot of time, uh, “testing” it. In addition to tile mashing fun, the game features an amazing soundtrack by Memblers. Some of it is almost twenty years old too, finally seeing the light of day with this release. Flash saves will store your high scores for years to come, thanks to the capabilities of Memblers’ GTROM boards. Gotta love technology, though for better or worse advanced boards like these will not work on cheap clone systems. This is a full CIB affair as well, and since it is the Numbered Addition (NA) edition, it will also be numbered on the title screen. There is also a reward that you’re eligible to claim, see details below.

Here’s what you get in the package:
-Numbered title screen (limited to 101)
-Semi-exclusive NA purple cartridge (you'll be happy when you see what else is using it; very good company)
-Brand new GTROM board by Membler Industries
-Special edition box, manual, and label
  -Paper cart sleeve
  -Styrofoam block
  -A special surprise reward
-A reservation for the same number of the next SGP NA release (conditional on retaining this release)

Price is $75 plus shipping, but look how much you get!

And here’s how sales are going to work:

Sales/Claiming Your Reservation/Line Jumping:

I’m scaling back the number of editions for each release, beginning with 0-to-X. When I first started out, three seemed like the ideal number, but the regular release will likely be dropped from the lineup, or delayed by a year or so. The NA release is my real passion, since the number of sales allows me to do some fun things (see below). Additionally, it allows for the release to carry its own unique color of shell, have special packaging, etc. As much as I obsess over the details of the LEs, the NA edition is where it is at for me.

The “Addition” part of the Numbered Addition Edition (say it five times fast) speaks to the reservation system that I have in place. Here’s how that is going to work this time. Those who bought the NA edition of Swords and Runes will have one week (until next Friday at 12:01 am) to lay claim to their reserved copy. Just post that you are interested and/or send me a pm with your address and paypal address. For anyone else who wants a copy, a wait list will begin immediately. “But hey!” you might say, “What about all of those empty spots, can’t I have one of those?” Since there are still fourteen copies of Swords and Runes NA ($75) sitting on my shelf, anyone that wants one of those can still get in on that reserved action. Filthy line jumpers! (please do). If you just want the 0-to-X NA, slots will be filled beginning with the lowest number, though you can shout out one number you'd like, just in case it is available. I also have the Swords and Runes RE back in stock ($45). Buying multiple game will also save you on shipping.

Speaking of shipping, it will be $7 within the US. There’s been some unhappiness about this number lately, so just to note, your package may not ship in a small flat rate box (though it might). Things like bubble wrap, and whatever else I use to stuff them with is not free. Most games will still ship in the slightly larger priority box, so have no fear! Combined shipping, if buying multiple games, is a flat $10. International orders will be slightly different, and I have no clue what to do with Canada post on strike so we’ll cross that bridge when we get there my Canadian friends (you can always just drive down to Buffalo and pick it up).

As loyal Goose Squad members know (membership cards are in the works), I made a rather large deal about the rewards system last time around. There is a secret in S&R, go find it! One person already has, but I’m not saying who, in order to protect his sanity and his inbox. I owe him a long overdue reward, but for 0-to-X things are going to be easier. You’ll have until the end of the month to post your scores in a thread (it will go up next week), and I’ll base who gets what off of that. You already paid for these items with your purchase, but which one you get is still up to me. The whole purpose is to get people actually playing homebrews, so get out there and play! This is also why all paid games will ship the same day, Monday July 11, to the best of my ability at least. If you're on that waitlist, you'll have three days to pay if you want your game on time. Rewards will ship out with or after the next SGP release. Sorry for that, but I want to keep prices down. It won’t be nearly as long this time around (announcement coming at the end of the month  ).

Reservation System:

The NA reservation system is going to skip over the next release, though, since it will be a little different. I also want to do something really special for it. Don’t worry though, you’ll still be reserved for the next NA release, a city simulation game also by nemesys that I’ve been hinting around about (November-December). I bet you can even find some screen shots of it if you dig around carefully enough. I had to break the order up since I wanted to get one of my own releases in there. It might finally happen, I might actually finish a game... but will the Goose lay a golden egg? We’ll have to wait and see.

Reservation list is below, I probably forgot something, but I’ll add it when I remember (or when you remind me):

*Red, I still owe you an S&R manual, I haven’t forgotten!
**Again, SGP games will not work in cheap clone systems. We do not cater to the lowest common denominator, and it allows us to do some extra things with games. So buy a NES, or an AVS!

No, thank you! This has been my office for the past month, roughly 1/3 of it taken up with 0-to-X materials. Forget picture quality, PVMs are great because they have flat tops; clearly designed for stacking purple carts. I have a path to the desk, a path to the closet, and a path to the TV. Help me!

FYI, for those curious, my 2015 Homebrew Calendar (top right) is perpetually set to August in anticipation of Lizard. My calendar is the calendar of Lizard? I think that's how it goes.

Filthy tester, get out of here! (and quit finding bugs!). Send it back to me if you want the corrected version  .

Memblers has won awards for his music, for some of these very tracks, for those that didn't know. Back when you all were still eating cafeteria tots. Sorry friend, you make awesome tunes and the world should know! They get stuck in my head just as much as any licensed music does. You can literally feel the worlds that he creates in sound.

Always good to get one of your long-finished games out! Thanks for your patience; not everyone would be quite so patient with their hard work hiding on my hardware all this time.

Feedback and thoughts on S&R are more than welcome, so please send anything you want my way. That goes for everyone, and find that secret!

To everyone else, the list has been updated, and I am going for a walk in the woods the rest of the day, without my phone. Peace of mind. Thanks for all of the support, and PayPal invoices will begin trickling out this evening.
